How to care for your roses: Tips from your florist
Share
Roses are stunningly beautiful, but they need a little extra care to stay fresh and beautiful. Here's how to take care of them:
- Cut the stems: Cut the stems of the roses at a 45-degree angle, about 2-3 cm, and do this under water if possible to prevent air bubbles.
- Remove excess leaves: Remove all leaves that fall below the water surface to avoid bacterial growth.
- Use clean water and flower food: Roses thrive best in lukewarm water, so fill the vase with lukewarm water and add flower food.
- Change the water regularly: Change the water and re-cut the stems every day or every other day to make the flowers last longer
- Avoid heat and drafts: Don't place roses in direct sunlight, near radiators or in drafts - they do best in a cool, stable environment.
